The Bottom Line:
If you have a need for a serious, sturdy camera that won't let you down in a pinch, I strongly recommend the Canon EOS-1V. Just a fine piece of machinery.
When I first read about the features of the Canon EOS-1V, I knew it was a camera I had to have. You see, I tend to obtain all of my electronics with all the bells and whistles that I will use in the future for whatever projects which may arise. Needless to say, this camera has more than fit the bill. I am not a professional photographer by any stretch of the imagination but with a little more concentration and a little research, I had come up with some professional looking photographs. The camera is unbelievable. The mere heft of it immediately lets you know that it is a workhorse. The controls were fairly easy to learn and use and I immediately saw vast improvement in the quality of my work. The custom features (a truckload) are a little tricky at first but easy to learn. You can even use the PC link software (sold separately) to add even more custom features. Now, I believe that this is not the first camera the average Joe should use but if you are a serious amateur or an adventurous professional, the Canon EOS-1V may be the one for you.
