The Bottom Line:
Canon XHA1 - absolute BEST HDV!
Canon does it again. You just have to get your hands on this incredible HDV camcorder. I am definitely upgrading my production camcorders (I currently own XL1, XL1s and XL2). The features and quality of the footage of the XHA1 is over the top! The image quality of the flip out LCD screen is so crisp and clear that I could see the sweet pores on my subject's face from across the room.
Adding two XLR microphone inputs to any camcorder is a huge plus for those of us who migrated out of a professional audio background. Imagine my surprise when I found an on-board speaker. Cool!
The 20X optical Zoom lens can be operated in fully automatic or manual mode. I have never seen a camcorder find perfect focus so quickly using the auto focus mode.
Once I got into the custom preset buttons I was convinced that upgrading all my camcorders would be a time saving investment. Canon sure took their time developing this beauty, but it will definitely save me time and money on my projects.
Oh, another totally cool thing is the SD card so I can capture images WHILE recording to HDV.
