A DV Cam with great features at a great price!

Pros Great Price, Good Quality, Stereo Sound, Analog & Digital Ports
Cons This model does not offer the memory card for pictures.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  This camera is offered with software package often, and is a complete package for people getting into digital video. I would recommend this item for its quality & completeness.
Incentive to Buy
I purchased this camera at the Black Friday sale after Thanksgiving, the item was on sale for $275. It also came with a rebate for $99 in software from Pinnacle, which offers a suite of video editing and authoring programs. For the features the camera offered at this price, it was the best buy compared to competitors.

Features
The camera has a 2.5 inch LCD, with a clean picture, the screen is rotatable and flips upside down and back into the camera so its viewable from outside.

It offers an 18x zoom, and the option to turn off digital zooming. Included is image stability which stops your video
from shaking when zoomed in on an object. The camera also offers a autofocus as well as manual focus for artistic video making, as well as fade in/fade out graphic effects. A picture button is also on the camera which allows still shots, while this model does not offer a memory card for the pictures, they are recorded to tape. Another nice this is that it only weighs 1.1 pounds.

It has stereo sound, and audio/video outputs as well as a Firewire port which allows easy transfer of your videos to your PC using Windows XP's built in movie maker, or software purchased separately for video editing.

The video quality is more than enough for webcasting, and home editing. The picture quality is very good when burnt DVD. The CCD or image capture sensor is 680,000 pixels, the average for most DV cams unless its a commercial one.

Rewind time on tapes is 2.2 minutes on 60min tapes which allows faster editing.

The complete Package
The camera comes complete with charger, and battery. When bought as a package with the software rebate this is a complete package to get anyone started.

Recommendation
I would recommend this product to anyone looking to get a DV cam or a camera to transfer video to DVD, or edit thier home movie collection. The price and features cant be beat, and its made by a reputable company known for their cameras, Canon Inc.
