superzoom gives dark and shaky image
Pros
compact, high zoom
Cons
dark and shaky image, small field, expensive
Recommended it?
No
There's no miracle. The carson 20-80x25 superzoom binoculars, made by Carson, deliver an amazing 80x power but a very dark image. The rule always holds that to get a good image one must not exceed a certain mag, roughly 50x for every inch of aperture, so 50x for 25mm)
The image is also very shaky requiring a sturdy tripod for 80x observations. When shakyness is mastered the image is acceptable but does not offer more details than the one seen at 20x.
I also found that the field at 20x is very small (impression of looking through a soda straw)
The good points are a compact and solid design and cool looking orange lenses (coatings).
But again what is the advantage of a compact design if one needs to walk around with a sturdy tripod, to make full use of the 80x?
Conclusion: I would not recommend this product for the 80x and will return mine. For the same price better buy a real telescope or good quality 30 to 50mm aperture binoculars, giving lots of light
