Fantastic sound and picture for something so small !!

Pros Excellent picture and sound quaility. Portable and goes anywhere.
Cons The price is a bit steep but is worth the money. Reception can be iffy.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I am very impressed by this handheld portable. I did not expect the picture and sound quality it offered from such a small unit.
A crisp picture better the reception of most televisions. That exactly what you get with this Casio handheld TV. The picture and reception is amazing considering this TV is so small and compact. The smallest details can be clearly seen on this small screen without having to squint or strain your eyes. The volume on the television is also great with no distortion or static. I like you don't have to turn the television all the way up to be able to understand what is being said. I really wanted this handheld to watch while going on trips. I found that it made long drives much more relaxing. It was also nice to let the kids use it for awhile and kept them entertained. The television is so small and portable its very easy to pack up with you and take along. I had received this portable television while I still lived in Ohio. I have since moved to a small valley on the west coast and will offer comparison between the two areas. I have found that being in the rocky mountains that I have a really hard time getting any channels to come through. I live in a very small valley in MT and I don't get the reception that I used to when I lived back East. Just something to keep in mind when deciding on this unit. Its like of like with cell phones and which areas you get good reception and others you get zip. This is an excellent television when you can get the channels to come through (this is no fault of Casios' however!!).

This television is very compact, lightweight and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and is indeed portable. It can go anywhere and takes up very little room when your packing it with you. You can take this anywhere whether you are traveling or wish to watch television somewhere else. It has a nice little stand in the back that allows you to place the television upright where ever you are and keeps your hands free when you are doing something else, like in the kitchen cooking dinner or while you are surfing the net. I really liked that if the kids were watching cartoons in the living room, I could take the television somewhere else and still be able to watch some of my favorite shows.

The design of the handheld is very sleek and modern looking. It's a very attractive style and impressive to everyone who sees you with it. There is a switch on the upper left side of the TV that turns the unit on when you slide if up. Now there are two more "levels" going upwards. Push the slider up once more and you have your VHF channels. Slide it up the second time and you have UHF. You get UHF Channels 2-13 and VHF Channels 14-69. As you change channels (which is done by the two thin silver buttons on the front of the TV) you will see a green UHF or Red VHF slider bar that goes from left to right scanning for reception and channels. One button scans upwards and the other scans downwards, just like your television remote. Trouble is you don't know what channel you are watching as there are no preset on the unit. Every time you turn the television off you have to relocate the station you were watching. It does seem to scan and pick up stations fairly quickly. There is an antenna to help while you are in building or areas with iffy reception. Its strictly a matter of where you are at and what signals the unit is able to pick up. The portable runs on 4 AA batteries. Make sure that they are a good quality brand of batteries such as Duracell or Energizer. Lesser quality batteries will die out very quickly and not allow you the viewing time this unit offers. As previously suggested, if you are going to be using the unit a lot it's a good idea to get rechargeable batteries. Good quality batteries will give you about 3 hours of viewing. You can also separately purchase an AC adapter, car adapter and an audio/video cord to maximize your viewing time. Yes, you can actually play video games from a console using this little TV. Also you can use earphones so that you don't disturb any other people who may be around you.

The picture quality is fantastic for a television so small. I was amazed at how clear and detailed everything is. The screen is identified as a "TFT active matrix" screen. I found that regardless of where I was at, the picture was very clear and easy on my eyes to watch.

On the bottom of the unit it reads "LCD color television EV-600" There is a dial on the right side that controls the darkness of the screen. There is another dial on the right hand side that controls the volume. The audio capabilities is also impressive as the sound is very crisp and clear. I experienced very little static while viewing this. The amount of channels available to me on the TV was somewhat limited and is even moreso now that I live in a different area then before. I'm not sure if that is typical for a portable television or has to do with where I live but I have noticed a significant difference in the two different areas.

This portable TV is highly recommended and I have thoroughly enjoyed mine. As noted before that the cost of this particular unit can be a bit expensive, however if you are able to splurge for something such as this it is an excellent portable to own
