Casio TV-880 2.3 in. Handheld TV

It was cloudy, rainy day with thunder overhead... I was waiting for my important letter to come in and ran to my mailbox after I saw the mail man leave. I found a light package.... It wasn't labeled and was very light. Well, thank goodness it was from an old friend that I haven't seen in years and not the unibomber!! In a recent phone conversation I had mentioned to him offhand that I would be traveling away alot from the office and would be stuck listening to the radio... and missing my favorite shows! :( Well, surprise, surprise.. I never expected a LITTLE gem of a T.V. to show up in such a little package!!! Now I love getting presents, but considering I'm a technology junkie and having THIS nifty, neat, and USEFUL thing show up is quite a surprise! I was even more pleasantly surprised while trying it out!!! So here is my experience with this little wonder I would like to share with you!

1) T.V. is better than any 9 inch so-called "portable" T.V.

This is so light and it fits right inside my jacket pocket or bag! When I need to conveniently pass the time and watch my long time favorite / often-missed T.V. shows (on the bus, the doctor's office, a long line, stuck in traffic, at the park) I just whip this little thing out and voila !!! I am watching my favorite T.V. shows anywhere I'd like my makeshift livingroom to be. It comes with a:
- built-in stand
- retractable antenna
- carrying strap / carrying case

2) Color quality is EXCELLENT

I can view this outdoors in very bright sun, indoors and there's a knob to quickly adjust the contrast. At any angle that I want to view it, it REALLY WORKS!!! I had another portable T.V. that I was not able to view at from different angles (had to keep adjusting the display).. so go figure I don't have the other portable T.V. anymore!! This Casio TV-880 just works!!! It says that it comes with the *new technology* "TI-DSN" for the pure, crisp easy to view LCD color display. This sure beats a 9-inch black and white. I also am a fan of LCD displays as they are a lot easier on the eyes!!! (than a regular T.V. or a projection T.V.). So I am sold on this one!!

3) Just like a regular T.V. plus more!!!

Just like other T.V.s, I am able to view stations from UHF and VHF. It is really great! Has everything except I can't hook up my Dish Satellite to it! I'll keep dreaming for another decade. For now, this little gem is just like carrying a regular T.V. around.

It uses 6 AA batteries and the batteries last a long time. They do not drain easily. You need to make sure you turn your T.V. off when you're storing it!! The switch it hard to accidentally turn on, so it is not a problem when storing it in your pocket or bag. I really love the way casio designed this!

Did I mention there's a headphone jack? It is for the standard earphones that you use in your CD player walkman. Great when you're out in public. Or if you're in a place where you don't need to listen to it discretely, there is a mono speaker that sounds fine. It is not stereo, but the sound can be made to be very loud that I can hear it very well from anywhere in the room.

I am overall very satisfied with the quality of this. It is very solid, and has survived many knocks, and goes anywhere with me! It is still working perfectly. A fine piece of technology, not to mention great to have one around!
