Can you imagine life without your TV? If your answer is no, then you need the 2.3" hand held color TV from Casio!!! I call this the little TV that goes the extra mile to make up for the bigger TVs in my live.

I came across it in the electronics section at our COSTCO Wholesale Warehouse. I am a mom that works hard, and is always on the lookout for things at unbeatable prices. Well, this one was! Till this very day I believe it must have been a mistake, but I bought my 2.3" Casio Color TV for only $49.00. It came in a look-through, contour sealed clear plastic case, and it came with earphones, four AA batteries, and an attractive black vinyl carrying case.

I was amazed at this little hand held TV! They definitely have come a long way to the top since I bought the first one 5 years ago. There's just no comparison any more. The 2.3" anti-glare Super Twisted Nematic High Quality Passive (TI-STN) screen is the same innovative technology as the ultra-sharp screens that the new laptops use! This screen has an impressive 39,600 pixel count, so I enjoy a razor-sharp picture in any light.

No matter where I take it I always get good contrast and resolution. In my opinion the picture is sharp and the colors incredibly realistic! Automatic tuning makes it easy and quick to find and hold the station I want. There is a slate gray, elongated press-down button on the front that works with light pressure. A bar wanders across the screen left or right, and automatically stops where it finds usable signals. It provides tuning from VHF channels 2 - 13, and UHF channels 14 - 69. This translates to 10 different stations for me here where I am!

Its sturdy telescopic antenna folds to the side when not in use and extends to max. 24" and rotates 360 degrees for optimal reception. With all the places this TV has been with me, and all the people who handled it this antenna never broke!

It has 2 small buttons on its right hand side to adjust brightness and volume. If you have a glare from light on the screen, adjusting brightness remedies the situation. The sound is only mono, a little flat, but incredibly good for such a small device. Words, and songs are clearly understood and volume can be adjusted from high to low. The small Casio earphones that came with the TV plug right on top of the TV next to the speaker, and are for both ears. Sound is good; I never noticed any buzzing or crackling sounds. They are about dime size, covered with a soft black lining and "plug" right into the ear's auricles.

This TV runs on four AA batteries, but as it turns out it is a little bit of a battery hog! So at first I bought rechargeable batteries, but later I wound up buying a power adapter at our local electronics shop, because battery life was only about 4 - 5 hours.

On the left hand side it has an elongated slider button to turn the TV on and off, or set for UHF or VHF. Below it is an audio/video jack for the power adapter and hook-up to a VCR or camcorder. Watch a portable TV become a handy monitor! Though I never used this feature it's just another bonus and I guess it would come in handy, if our family TV ever broke!

The Casio TV is small and light weight, a mere 7.0 oz, and not much bigger than my Microsoft Intelli Mouse. It is robust enough to carry everywhere. I won't miss the news, the game, or favorite show. I have a quality black vinyl carrying case with belt loop and strap that came with it, but it would easily fit into a handbag, briefcase, or coat pocket. I just pull out my little Casio hand held and either hold it or set it up on an even surface, since it features a built-in pull-out stand in the back for easy viewing on a shelf or tabletop.

I watch it to pass the time in a waiting room, or an airport (or on the plane) where it's definitely a godsend! And handing it to our restless kids on our annual car trip to South Carolina to keep them occupied is a lifesaver. I take it to work to watch a little TV during my lunch break, or set it up next to my PC to take a glance every now and then. Last night it worked out great! I didn't miss any of the live opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City while sitting in front of my PC. The ceremony was great! What a moment it was when the Olympic flag was hoisted in Salt Lake City. The screen's brilliant contrast and resolution made me completely forget that I was looking at only 2.3"! Red was red, blue blue, yellow yellow, green green, and black was black!
