A good tv, but not great

Pros Great picture, and sound, especially for the price
Cons Reception not totally great
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Not an awsome tv, but for the price is very nice!
For the price of this TV, it is a very good TV. I would have liked to have seen a bigger screen (but that is what you get when you have portable) and probably better reception. However, reception is only as good as the transmitter and distance, not to mention weather, or even buildings.

This TV has a good picture, but not great; however, this could be different with a higher pixel rating and you get what you pay for. This lower priced model wasn't meant to have all the bells and whistles. It is basically meant to get people who don't feel like spending tons of money on a TV into the portable world.

While the sound could be much better, you kind of have to expect only so much from a little tiny speaker (again portability). You have to have really good reception to get great sound, but if you move to an area with better reception you get better sound. However, you have to remember that you are using a portable TV and you are going to get portable sound. It isn't going to look or sound like your TV at home.

The TV is very easy to use. I never read the instruction manual (at first) and I turned the TV on and had it working in no time. It's pretty self explanitory, you turn it on and tune to a channel you want to watch. It would work just like your regular TV in that matter. The only difference is that instead of it displaying actual numbers, there is a list of numbers on the front of the TV under the screen. When the TV is searching for a channel, a bar moves across the screen telling you what channel it is on by reference to the numbers on the front.

The batteries get used up kind of quick. You only get 4 hours of play time with a set of 4 batteries. I don't expect it to last forever, but that is expensive to run if you only run it on batteries. You can however, pick up a power adapter that you can plug it in with so you won't use battery power, but you have to order one or get one so it isn't as practical. If you are going to use batteries though, keep plenty of them with you!!!

The antenna on the TV is the same as you would find on a portable radio. You simply pull it out and aim it in the direction to best pick up the channel you are searching for. Not the best way of getting the reception, but it works and is portable.

If you are looking for a way to check out what a portable TV is, this tv is a great way to get started. It is a good tv that doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles, but you are using it for portability anyway. You have to sacrifice something when you use a portable device.
