Mars needs telescopes....
The telescope is a beginner's telescope. First off, the previous reviewer noted that his instruction book was not complete for the 114. This has been changed by Celestron: The current telescope treats the 114 as a peer, and all the documentation is in the manual.

Great telescope deal but Celestron policy sucks
Overview:
This telescope is being sold at Costco for $200. Given the price, simplicity of setup and the decent quality of the scope, I would recommend it to any casual hobbyist. Hurry before they run out-of-stock.

Decent scope but a few problems
The Celestron NexStar 114GT is a good telescope but needs some improvements. A good beginner scope but you must have some knowledge of the stars and heavens. Good buy at the right price
This scope is an entry level unit with a great computer mount. It excels at locating any object in the sky. After entering the local latitude, longitude, date and time the scope automatically points to the first alignment star. Center that star in the eyepiece hit the align button the scope then...
