The Bottom Line:
I would highly recommend this unit to someone who wants the convenience of an all in one deck without the high price of some of its' competitors.
Purchased this unit brand new off Ebay about six months ago. I've been a big MD fan now for years and have quite a few pre-recorded titles as well as mix discs (have the MD computer drive, lets me drag and drop files, so easy!). I had been looking for an all in one unit for quite some time and I knew that my car would accept a "double-din" so this was my perfect match for my needs and my budget.
The unit has performed flawlessly since installed at Circuit City. It was very easy to set up and taylor the sound to my preferences. As one of Clarion's "Pro-Audio" line it has plenty of internal power, but I opted to hook up to an external amplifier and the sound is blissful. I listen to a great deal of jazz and classical which can really bring out problems in the sound quality of an inferior product. I'm pleased to report that this head unit has no such problems.
The unit is feature packed with bells and whistles like user-selectable EQ settings, remote control, and MD title display. The "mute" feature is actually a true mute and shuts off the sound completely, a nice feature at the touch of a button when your cell phone rings.
