Cobra Electronics MicroTalk PR 3100-2 DX (14 Channels) Two Way Radio

I bought the 3100DX after trying the Motorola 5500 because the Cobra has 2 watt and is supposed to have a 13km reach. The unit has the power advantage;the LCD screen is much better , better lit. The way the controls operate on the face are good but takes a while to catch onto. I am in an area with rolling hills and at 8 km back in the woods, I still have good contact.I find the shape too slick, it can slip from your grip. The belt clip system is poor.The instructions for scrolling modes, VOX, are not clear. The unit has the power. All the options sound good, but are not that simple to activate nor remember
