I have had the Cobra EDS-9050 for sometime now, and over all it works great for me here where I live in Victorville Ca. 90miles NE of Los Angeles. It works great with the K/Ka bands, it has alerted me every time and then I see a CHP or a police car or a speed radar sign nearby. So never had any false alarms ever on the K/Ka indicator! The only issue I have with it is that the X band alerts me a lot in certain areas with false alerts which gets annoying so I use the mute and 'City' mode to help calm down the noise. I heard that the X band includes garage door openers and microwave sites and other transmissions so I guess that is the reason for the false alerts. Does anyone know how to disable the X band function or filter it? I have not encountered an alert from the laser and VG2, I don't think they use those here in my area which is fine with me lol.
