I would highly recommend this radio for kids. It is very simple and easy to use and is very compact.
The COBRA PR 150 is a very small, compact 2 way radio. It doesn't have many extras, but it is very simple and easy to use. I would suggest it for kids or adults who want something that is easy to use.
The COBRA PR 150 has a stated range of 4 miles. Like all walkie talkies you won't actually get any where near that kind of range. Expect to get a range of 1 mile or less and you will do fine with this radio. In the city with lots of interference, 1/2 mile will most likely be your top range. Out in the open away from cities, you can expect to get up to 2 miles.
The best part about these radios is that they are very compact. They easily fit into your pocket or can be worn on your belt (a belt clip comes with the radio). They operate on 3 AAA batteries.
If you want a simple, easy to use radio that is ultra compact, then the COBRA PR 150 may be just what you are looking for. If you need extra bells and whistles like NOAA weather channel, VOX, vibrate, compass, stopwatch, etc. don't buy this one, because it doesn't have any of those extra features.
