Cobra Electronics ESD 6200 Radar Detector

I purchased this Radar Dectector about a year ago. While I was looking for detectors, I found that this one was the cheapest voice radar detector I could find.

This radar detector does its primary job well. First of all it detects X, K, and KA bands very well. It hasn't saved me from getting a ticket yet, but if I had been exceeding the limit in some instances I would have been bagged by a speed trap or two. I have not heard the laser warning at all.

All of the secondary features complete the quality of this product. Having a hot sexy voice tell you to slow down is very cool. My girlfriend is jealous ;). When I have my 330 watt stereo system turned all the way up, I can still hear as it when it goes off. If the mute button is pushed while sitting at a stop light or something it will un-mute itself when it stops receiving the signal. The auto-mute feature will turn the volume down after the third beep or so. These features are all very cool and useful.

There is one bad thing about this detector, every once in a while it will do a strange thing. Sometimes it will all of a sudden go through the startup sequence. It seemed to do it on a regular basis when I used to drive by a large radio antenna every day. My friend has the same one and while he was driving down I-95 in Boston it told him there was train while there was no train tracks in sight. Those are just kind of minor things that I can deal with though.
