The Bottom Line:  All Around great detection detects all Laser & Radar units sold in the USA today. tested on open road and under controlled circumstances A would be my grade
Hello, First things first. I am an instructor in the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, and one of my subjects is a course in the use of radar and laser for all Law Enforcement Officers in Ohio. I bought this unit to use and see how effective it was with instant on X K & KA band radar. To my amazement this unit performed GREAT is all I can say.... I ran it against several types of radar devices, including MPH's K-55 & K-15 and the new HAWK with superwide KA bands, also Custom Electronics and the Decater Radar Inc. these three company's make about 99% percent of all law enforcement radar in the United States. But then I tried Pro Laser and Prolaser III and Ultra Lyte's laser's and found that the detector worked well on all. I tried several other High priced units and found that this unit out performed the Valentine 1, and the K40 and SS1400. In closing I was not successfully clocked but one time and it was an instant on less than 500 FT away at night and me being the ONLY thing on the roadway, no detector can save you there!!! So this writer is saying PLEASE don't speed because to everyone's surprise, this 19 Year Veteran, and most of all the officers I talk with really don't like writing tickets.... but its part of the job... but this detector can make you more aware of your surrounding's and help to improve your driving habits.. before we do.. I hope that you find this helpful in your quest for a good mid priced detector.... I know that there is tons of data out there that says Escort and Beltronic's rate the best.. Yes maybe a few more milliseconds of alert time.. but does it justify the extra money they cost ???? you will have to make that call.. Thanks and Happy Motoring
