Pros
Voice alert is nice because it catches your attention more than just a beep.

Lousy! and I mean lousy Laser detection!

The Bottom Line:
If laser guns are common in your area, pass on this unit.
I purchased this about six months ago because I moved to an new area where my house was farther from the freeway and had a lot more surface street cops with Laser guns. The unit has worked well for X, K and Ka bands. Always pointing out highway patrolmen on the freeway. It has nice alerts and seems to handle the heat of a car interior well. However, already the on/off volume control is getting scratchy (dirty) when turning the unit on and off. (My cigarette lighter has constant power) The suction cups work very well and keep the unit secured to the window regardless of temperature. Where this unit fails miserably and where it failed the ultimate test for me was in the laser department. Last week I was in a hurry to get to my daughter's graduation and on a perfectly straight road on the way to the freeway, a local cop nailed me doing 61 in a 45 (it's a very sparse road!) with his laser gun. The detector did not go off AT ALL! Before, during or after the stop. I had it mounted per instructions, on the window, level, and above the windshield wipers. I have driven by several cops that were clearly clocking people and the detector has not gone off. I have only heard the laser alert twice since I bought the thing. Well, you get what you pay for and now I get to pay for a ticket. I emailed Cobra about this to see if maybe the unit was defective and they have yet to respond! Go figure!
