I bought this product to avoid getting a ticket. In the small town I live in the cops enjoy harassing you, so it makes sense to know where they are before they see you. I bought the 9200 assuming that it would work. It has NEVER gone off for a town cop. All my friends that have a radar detector (not a Cobra) say that their detectors go off every time! What is the point of spending five dollars on a radar detector that doesn't work? Let alone spending $130. It is well worth spending the extra money on a more expensive brand than a Cobra. Not to give the wrong idea, the detector has saved my ass a few times, so it did pay for itself, but at the same time i see it as a false sense of security because it is not consistant. If you do want to buy a Cobra 9200, save yourself the money and get a model without voice alert. When the radar goes off it says, "Be careful, X alert." Or the X may be replaced with Ka or K. When it goes off I find myself looking to see which band it is before it can tell me anyway. It was an incredibly bad idea to have have the detector say "be careful" at all, after all those two words serve no purpose. So do yourself a favor if your considering a Cobra and get one without voice alert, it's not worth the extra $30 dollars.
