Cobra Micro Talk, Helps Me In The Woods Or At The Mall

Pros Lightweight,Easy To Use,LCD Display Panel
Cons My Holster Clip Broke.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I have found more uses for it that I had ever imagined. It is a wonderful item to have. Very Hi-Tech and easy to use!
The Cobra Microtalk FRS-110-SB has helped me many times in the woods, at the mall and even while traveling in different cars. I love this little jewel. It makes my life easier and safer. I bought it first of all, to use on hunting trips. As, I was always concerned as to where my hunting partners were when we all fell out, into the woods. As my partners can never sit where they are suppose to for a long period of time. Thus, making me afraid to shoot, when I had an excellent chance. Since purchasing the Cobra Microtalk I have had much more success on my hunting trips.

FEATURES

*Antenna
*Microphone/Speaker Jack
*On/Off Power Button
*LCD Display Panel
*Down/Up Volume Control
*Speaker
*Battery Compartment
*Talk Button
*Call Button
*Channel Select Button

All of these features are very easy to operate. Here are some details.

You will need to purchase 4 "AAAA" batteries for each unit, they are not included. Buy a high quality battery. When the batteries are low there is a BATT LOW indicator light that will blink. I have had to purchase new batteries once since I bought my original ones. But, I have used this many times.

You simply push and hold the POWER button for 2 seconds to turn it on. It has an Audible "tone" that let's you know it is on. It is a lovely tone. You have 14 channels to choose from. I always use channel 1 since it is easiest to explain to whom ever the other person is, that is using it on the other end. I just tell them to keep it on channel 1 and we can stay in touch. I find channel 1 to be the easiest or me and whoever is on the other end.

There is a call button you can push to alert the other party you are calling them. You simply Push and Release the Call button. This sends a ringing tone for 2 seconds and they will know that you want to talk. Then you simply Push and Hold the Talk button. Keep the mic about 2 inches from your mouth and speak normally. Release when you are finished and wait for your party to respond.

You can adjust the Volume by pushing the DOWN/UP button. I find that I keep this set on 5. It is perfect for me. The sound is crystal clear. It has a range of up to 2 miles. Of course it will depend on the terrain you are in. I have never had a problem. I used my Cobra MicroTalk recently at a function in a huge coliseum. It was great. I could find my party easily. I was amazed at other people carrying these handy items around. Of course they all had different types.

Mine is a very bright Yellow. It is lightweight and very well made. I have dropped it before and it shows no signs of damage. Mine came with a Holster Belt Clip and Desk Stand. It is made from a molded plastic. I broke one of my belt clips right off. But, I have found that I would rather carry it in my pocket or purse, anyway.

This weekend I am heading out for my Lake house in Oklahoma, for the 4th of July holiday. And yes, I am packing my Cobra Micro Talk. Why? For the simple reason, that I am going to have one down on the dock, so when I am up at the house, I can communicate with the group. Instead, of walking down there or hollering at them. It is a real handy item to own!

I paid $89.00 plus shipping and handling. I am very pleased with this product and it has more uses than I ever dreamed. It comes with a limited warranty and if you have any problems you can call: 1-773-889-3087. Or you can visit their website at www.cobraelectronics.com.
