These FRS radios make communication easy and give you a 2 mile range and great reception that is so clear, you might think you're talking on a cell phone. The call button lets you send a 3-second ring to the other unit to signal that you want to talk. Another great feature is the LCD display. It tells you the channel you are on, if the battery is low, and the volume which can be backlit by a green light for use even at night. For families who are very active, the antenna flexes without breaking. One other feature is the Dual-Purpose Beltclip. It can be used both as a desk stand and a belt clip. I find it to work very well.
The only screwed up feature I found was the Roger Beeptone, which is a beep at the end of each conformation. I don't like it at all. No, it cannot be turned off either. It is loud and embarrasing to have. But, it can be helpful for knowing when it is okay to speak.
