Yes
A 10 band radar and laser detector, there are 4 different signals for radar, 4 different signals for laser and 2 different signals for safety.
Now you can have the ultimate protection against getting a ticket, running up on a work site or emergency situation. I myself stay close to the speed limit, to me this is just a toy, it is nice though when it lets you know there is an emergency vehicle coming up on you or if you are getting close to a work scene. Even if you don't plan on speeding, this is a nice emergency alert system to have on any trip.
The Cobra XR-1010 has LaserEye 360? Detection that provides 360? detection of all four laser signals. That means no matter, which way the detector is pointing, it will protect all around you.
There is a Data Display that lets you know which of the 10 bands it found. There is also Voice Alert that tells you by voice which band is in alert. There are a total of 11-audio alerts, 6-visual alerts and 4-signal strength indicators.
There is a mute button and auto mute button if you don't want to hear all the sounds.
There is a City & Highway switch, this helps when you are city driving so you won't get the wrong signals.
It has a high speed RISC digital processor similar to a computer. This is basically a small computer with built in commands. This little computer does the radar and laser hunting for you.
Price is a list of $299 and if you shop around you can find it for less than $200.
The 10 bands
4-Radar Signals: X Band Radar and K Band Radar are the older and most common radar bands. Ka Superwide Radar was the next step and now most have gone to VG-2 Alert System. The VG-2 Alert System alerts you when you are under surveillance and it blocks them at the same time.
4-Laser Signals: There are four laser signals used today and this model will detect all four, LTI 20-20 Laser, Ultra Lyte Laser, ProLaser and the newest ProLaser III. I'm not sure how the four work, but the detector will let you know if one and which type is in the area.
2-Safety Signals: The two are Safety Alert System and Strobe Alert System. The Safety Alert System will detect emergency vehicles and road workers who have the Safety Alert Transmitters. The Strobe Alert System will detect the emergency vehicles and road workers who have the Strobe Alert Systems. This is very handy on a trip, it really does let you know if you come upon any emergency vehicles or road workers.
Overall
This is the Cadillac of the radar detectors, it is built solid and has a lot of nice features.
It comes with all the accessories for mounting on the dash with Velcro or sticking it on the windshield with rubber suction cups. It comes with a 12 volt coiled power cord, I like the coiled cord a lot better than the ones that are not coiled.
If your looking for a dependable radar detector then I highly recommend this one even if you will have to pay a little more for it verses some others.
