The Cobra Micro Talk 1, 2-Way FRS Radio FRS 100-2 GY, Two Pack with Incoming Call Alert is The High Performance "Walkie-Talkie" that has recently gained popularity among the young and 'old' alike. Some conditions can shorten the effective range of this radio. Under flat, open conditions one will experience the maximum range. However, range can be reduced by buildings and foliage in the path of the signal. Also range will be further reduced by dense foliage and hilly terrain.
This radio can make life easier and safer. As I stated there are many uses for the unit ~ keeping track of the kids in a shopping mall, communicating between basement and first, second or third floor, talking to a neighbor or friend, checking on travel companions in another car, etc.
We compared the Motorola brand with this unit and felt this brand compared favorably for less $$$ with just as good quality.
