Not bad, but could use some improvements.

Pros Cheap with tons of options, plays just about anything. (vcd, mp3, photo cd etc.)
Cons Software is buggy and needs some tuning. Prone to easily overheating (I guess).
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Check out some other dvd's before you let go of that fifty bucks, there are more options out there now.
I really was happy to get this DVD player.. it has soo many options without the hefty price. It plays virtually any vcd, cd of burned mp3's and even photo cd's. It has quite a few options on the remote itself. You can set the dvd to do an endless loop on any section of the dvd you like. This is great because I can loop one of my son's favorite songs and he can watch/listen to it over and over again. Yesterday was a veggie tales song, maybe spongebob tomorrow.

One thing I have been unhappy about is the software that runs the machine. You have to be very careful when you start the player because the volume is always set to 20 when turned on. (the highest setting) I also dislike the way it treats mp3 cd's. The playlist is very cumbersome and has no options. You play one directory at a time, otherwise, you will need to make all your mp3's on the root of the cd. (no mp3's in directories)

But I think worst of all, the DVD player will start skipping and lagging like crazy if it gets hot. Make SURE you don't put anything around or on top of the unit if they cover the ventilation slats. I kept a few dvds on top of the player and within fourty minutes, the player started going nuts! I took everything off it and let it rest (off) for about 10 minutes and then it worked fine again.

I remember hearing that the software is updatable? Huh? I checked their website, but alas.. it is comprised of about two pages. Ugh.

My personal opinion is to find another DVD player. The Go.Video DVD players seem to be quite a bang for your buck. Nowdays, you can find name brand dvd players for the fifty dollar range so shop around a bit.
