Coby CX-7 - Junk!
Pros
Small, Light Weight
Cons
Very Poor reception, weak belt clip, Bogus warranty.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Don't buy unless you like listening to 2 or more stations at once and don't need a belt clip or warranty.
I spend a lot of time outside and enjoy listening to Am radio. However I like to listen to one station at a time.
I recently purchased a Coby CX-7 am/fm Radio Receiver. I am very disappointed in this piece of junk. First the belt clip broke off before I even attached it to my belt. The worst thing about this receiver is that when it's on 'AM' it receives no less than two stations at once, anywhere on the dial. (Maybe it's supposed to be like those TVs that have a picture within a picture so you can watch 2 stations at once.) I live in a major metropolitan area and have never had this trouble with an AM radio. I spoke to a few other people who made the mistake of buying this receiver and they all experienced the same problem. I have now purchase a similar size radio made by Emerson and all the AM stations are clear. It goes by the name 'Nascar' It is digital with 20 preset stations, and a solid belt clip. It cost 24 dollars and was worth the money. I am not going send the Coby CX-7 in for repair because their warranty is really BOGUS. The warranty states that I must send a money order for six dollars. That, along with what I would pay to ship it would match or exceed what I paid for the piece of junk. Instead, I will just not buy or recommend Coby electronics, ever!
