THE COBY DVD-224 - the dirt cheap region free player rocks the house!

It might work okay for you...
I bought this DVD player for practical reasons. Paid $34.95 for it but have seen it for as low as $29.95 in stores. Pricewise, its a winner. Also was one of the few around that was small enough to fit into the cramped space I needed it to fit into.

Garbage
I bought this DVD player as a cheap replacement for a DVD player I don't use very much. Price was the only consideration and Fry's electronics had 2 players at this price point. I chose the Coby because the remote had a better layout.

Not worth the trouble
I purchased this DVD to replace my old APEX. It was cheap $30 or so. At first it worked fine and I watched about 30 DVD's after which it would only read about every 5th DVD I tried. The unit will display no disc after about 2 minutes of trying to read it. I will still however play music just fine... Read full review »
Not worth it!
I would not recommend spending the money on this product. Save up and get something a little bit nicer and you will be happy that you decided to do it. Great low-end DVD player.
I just bought this DVD player at a local retailer since I needed a DVD player to put in my bedroom. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, especially considering the TV in there is only 17" with mono audio. The Coby DVD-224 did not let me down!
