"A" for innovation, "D" for Quality

Pros Lots of features for the price plays PAL/NTSC
Cons Cheap quality parts, picture could be improved.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  A good introductory player for someone looking to move onto VHS or to travel with. Definitely not for someone looking for solid picture quality.
I originally bought this DVD Player because of it's cost and features. Let's face it, you will be hard pressed to find the features of this player in anything that is close to the cost ($40USD). Unfortunately as with the cheap price-tag, comes cheap quality.

Now for the breakdown:

Features:

Progressive Scan
Remote
NTSC/PAL compatible
Multiple Subtitles/Angles
Zoom
Parental Lock
110/220 automatic power adjust
Dolby Digital
Analog Audio Out
Coaxial Digital Out
Component Video Out
(Progressive Scan)
Composite Video Out
S-Video Out

The biggest selling point of this player for me was the ability to play both PAL and NTSC format DVDs. That being said you will still have to backup the original disc in order to make it region free before it will play on this player (it only plays Region 1) but that is MUCH easier than converting PAL to NTSC.

The layout of the remote and the player is pretty convenient. It is easy to setup and use.

Impressive eh? Well, not exactly. You can't have that much stuff for $40 without paying some kind of price.

First of all there is the video quality. Even with the S-Video hooked up you can tell that the picture is dull and pixelated. Even my XBOX with the same type of hook-up blows this player out of the water. In addition it is pretty clear that the drive is weak as movies that are unscratched/un-damaged can pixelate and break-up once the player has seen a few hours of use. I double checked the DVDs I tested in order to make sure and even tested them out in another player (my xbox) and sure enough they play flawlessly in other players. Even the RCA cables that come with the player are incredibly cheap quality.

Ultimately I have decided to return the player as it just isn't worth it to sacrifice the picture quality and deal with tempermental playback to be able to watch the 10-15 PAL format titles that I happen to have and my Panasonic S-35 blows it away in all other respects.

Honestly this is a good introductory player for someone who just wants to upgrade from VHS or someone who wants a cheap player to travel abroad with as it is compact and versatile (plays both standard formats and is compatible with both standard currents).
