Coby Tfdvd7008 7 in. Portable DVD Player

I purchased the Coby Tfdvd7008 7 in. Portable DVD Player with Screen for my husband for his birthday. We were looking for an inexpensive, but easy to use, durable DVD player. This one was about $70 and seemed like just the product we needed. The reviews weren't great, but not bad either at the time. When he opened it the remote control was not there. That should have been the first tipoff that this product might not be all that we thought it would be. But, being who he is, he hates to return things -- especially things we have bought online because of the annoying mailing issues.

He did not have any trouble at first using it without the remote, so he kept the unit. We traveled with it several times, and really only had problems getting the DVDs to load. As time went on, it became more and more difficult to use. Several of the features we had originally bought the player for didn't work at all. We couldn't get it to accept a USB plug or connect the video out to a larger screen. Finally, after about 30 hours of use, the screen went out. By then, it was too late to return it so we now have one more item that we can't recycle.
