I have had my dvd player now for probably 3 years and have not had any problems with it. There are no bells and whistles but it gets the job done.
I ride a transportation service to and from the doctor and use it to keep me company when I ride also to keep me company on long road trips. When I bought mine I had a $30 rebate so I certainly cannot complain.
