Serious Point and Shoot Camera

The Contax TVS II point and shoot camera is a work of art. The f3.5-f6.5 T* lens is razor sharp with excellent acutance, resolution and flare control. The titanium body is light, durable and in keeping with a serious shooters need for long term durability. This camera has ALL the auto and manual combination of features one would expect in a camera of its class. This review is critical, since Contax has stopped production of this camera for Y2K, and replaced it with the TVS III (the III is too small, and has a slow lens- see other reviews). If you desire a professional quality pocket sized camera with a true wide angle to normal zoom, this is it. The Zeiss 28 mm - 56 mm lens is superb, with the only downside being its speed (f3.5-6.5) and a small degree of vignetting at 28 mm and f 3.5. However, these are very small issues with this camera, but nee mentioning in an honest review. The photographer seeking a pocket-sized jewel will eventually own one of these.
