Muvo squared - neat but......
Pros
Compact, Well built, great sound.
Cons
Software
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Think carefully about storage capacity. If 25 hours is enough, this is as good as anything out there
First the good news. It sounds great, is very compact, light and solidly built. The battery life is about 6 hours and it comes with a tidy little carrying pouch.
The player comes with 1.5 GB of storage which amounts to 25 hours of music. Why people talk about numbers of songs is a mystery to me.
Operating the player is straightforward if a bit fiddly as the rocker switch is small and the screen strip somewhat small but at least the menu is intuitive and easy.
The big weakness is the software. It is crude and badly documented. If you rip albums you find that though the software displays a track index number the play order is alphabetical so what you have to do is prefix any track titles with a number - a solution that is OK once you realise that 10 precedes 1 in the sort order ......I have found that there is an update to the software which can be downloaded though I have yet to get round to it as I don't have broadband.
If I were buying now I think I would go for a higher storage capacity, even at 25 hours I have already got to the point where I have to move something off to add another CD.
