Compact dynamo gets it done without special software

Pros Records voice, radio, line-in. Plays MP3 or WMA like much more expensive machines.
Cons Some reliability issues with buttons, but mostly this is past. Color availability.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you never get another MP3 player, this will be enough. It fits anywhere and is bullet proof. Everyone who sees mine wants it. And they are cheap too!!
I bought this MP3 player for a friend and it is the third Creative MUVO/NANO model... I highly recommend this to anyone. There is no special software to use, unless you choose to; I have a library of Mp3s I ripped from my CD collection and I can drag and drop the files, alone or in folders, and the NANO Plus figures it out and plays without any fuss. I tend to use the Creative brand software for ripping, and there are enough selections on the settings to increase fidelity to near CD sample rates ( I tend to use 320kbps BIT RATE and 44KHz sample rate for MP3 tracks I really like, and you can easily tell the difference with studio headphones. On the down side, using some versions of the included software to fill the NANO will automatically "dumb down" the files to 64kbps WMA files to conserve space.
Portability is outstanding, smaller than any compeditor out there! In the classroom setting, this comes in very handy as a means of digitally recording exactly what your professor has said, in a very inoffensive (almost un-noticible) package. I have heard that this is great for voice-notes to yourself, but I have only used this feature in recording college lectures.
The ability to convert line-in input was a key factor in me deciding to buy this MP3 device. The encoding engine for this feature uses a 64kbps fixed setting (basically, FM stereo radio quality), but that was just fine for converting over my old cassette tapes to digital format. I have also used this for several creative projects, and this feature comes in handy for later multi-track re-mixes in other software (use your favorite!).
I have also used the radio recording to get political speeches into digital format.
Just a wealth of features for the business person or serious night-school college student. For a casual fitness player, this is almost overkill, but the ease of use and portability are unbeatable!
The only down sides appear to be button reliability and quality control. This was a larger problem with earlier MUVO players from Creative, but the NANO and NANO PLUS are very good quality now.
Pricing is very compeditive with other brands, and I was never able to find similiar features in anything so small from anyone else.
Available in a rainbow of juicy colors, and plain-jane models too.
