Crosley CR247 Audio Shelf System

The Crosley CR245 Producer performed well at first.  Phono and radio sound is crisp.  Good bass though a bit shrill in high registers.  To record a CD from vinyl is very simple: Just start the LP and press a button.  But on our very first recording try with this brand new unit, after about a half hour the recording counter stopped.  After that the LCD panel was lit but blank, and only the power switch worked, so could not eject the CD.  I emailed Crosley's support website and received a return phone call within minutes.  The rep suggested I return the unit to the store.  Unfortunately, the store is Linens 'n' Things, which is going out of business, so no returns.  He could offer no opinion as to the cause of the problem, and recommended I ship the unit back to Crosley for repair or replacement.  I pay for the shipping, plus I must enclose a check for $19.95 for return shipping!
