CTX Multimedia Series 2900 29 inch CRT Monitor

Had a friend help me lug the 123lbs CTX MS2900 into the house and on to a coffee side table, it takes the entire surface at 23.5H X 28L X 20D. No software is provided and I assume not neccassary so it was a pretty direct install when used as a pc monitor. Picture is large and bright and color looks terrific. I first played "Young Frankenstein" on DVD and altough this is a black and white movie, it looked better than I had seen it before. I still havnt tried the S-video hook-up wich should make it even better. When I went to the DVD menu and selected the "making of" section, in color, I was impressed with the quality. The greenery in the background seemed to jump out at you. When I switched back to the windows 98 desktop, the picture seemed a little out of focus, but not enough to be a problem. (perhaps I am sitting to close) Next I put in the popular game "Unreal tournament" and was soon grinning ear to ear. This is a big image and the speakers enclosed in the cabinet didnt do bad either, though I prefered my existing Klipsch set-up(naturally). I didnt opt for CTX's optional tv tuner as I have one in my Nvidia Geoforce 4 TI 4600 card. However, I will order this option ,called "vision box" by CTX, as it also provides additional input/output options and seems neccessary to complete the setup of other arrangments easily. I wasnt aware of this when I ordered without and I think it is around $200. I like the monitor and for the money,reccomend it.
