The No Problem VCR

Pros This has been a positive experience owning this VCR.
Cons None.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I have no complaints with the VCR. It has done a great job, and has not cost a lot of money. We have really enjoyed this VCR. I would recommend.

I bought the Curtis CMV62002 VHS VCR at Wal-Mart. I had a very expensive one and it got hit by lighting. So with everything changing to DVD, we knew we would not spend a lot on a VCR. I really wanted the VCR so I could play my old home videos every once in a while. They are fun to play at our family reunions, so I bought the Curtis CMV62002 VHS VCR. I think we only paid like $65.00 for this VCR. The Curtis CMV62002 type is a VHS, it is a four head video. The audio is HI-FI stereo.

The front of the Curtis CMV62002 VHS VCR has a compartment to place the VCR tape into the VCR so I can watch a movie. It is really very simple. The insert to put the VCR tape in is eight inches long by one inch high. I just need to turn my TV on and press power on the VCR, then press play on the VCR or I can do this with the remote. Slip the tape in and I will be ready to see my movie in a few moments. On one side of the play circle is Rew ( rewind) and the other side will read F.F.(fast forward).

There is a clear Display that is about 4 inches wide and 1 inch high. When I press power and play this display will give the message Hi so I know the VCR is turned on. When I am done playing a movie the display will say Bye. To the left of the display is Channel up or Channel down. These two little square buttons will change the channels. This can also be done using the remote.

On the left side of the display is the Menu this can be set for your own needs), the Rec (this VCR can record movies). Stop (this will stop the movie anytime I want to). On the back or the VCR are the TV cable input and the TV output. There is two other 1/2 inch circles on the left front side this is Power and Eject. Under the eject circle is the audio white line input jack and under the power circle is the video input jack.

All of the different options can also be performed by using the remote control. I wish the remote was a little bigger it is only 6 inches long by 2 inches at the top. We seem to lose anything this small in our house. The remote uses two AA batteries. I do like the remote because I hate to get out of my nice easy rocking chair after a hard days work. Another thing I like about this VCR is the record feature, so many times I start to watch something interesting and the phone will ring or some one comes over so I will just record the rest of the movie. On the remote the button is easy to find just press the red button for record.

The Curtis CMV62002 VHS VCR comes with a 60 inch electric cord. This cord is long enough to fit anywhere I need to plug the cord in. The whole VCR weights about 5 pounds it is really easy to move. The older ones were heavy and cost a lot of money. Some of the other features that are on this Curtis Mathes VCR are: commercial advance, one month programmable timer, auto clock setting, two speed picture search, and 181-channel tuner. The feature I like the best is the commercial advance, I love to bypass all the commercials.

The VCR was assembled in China for the Curtis Mathes Company. I have had the VCR over three years and have never had a problem. It has served me and my family very good. This product has brought a lot of very good family times with my grand kids. They have watched a lot of movies and popped a lot of popcorn. We always have a good time even if the movie was not that good.

In closing, this has been a great product and given good service and many good memories. I say memories because we hardly use the Curtis CMV62002 VHS VCR. We keep it to watch our old home movies and we now watch all are movies on our DVD player. Thanks for reading.
