Good while it lasted...
Pros
Stylish, fairly easy to use.
Cons
Consider it an expensive disposable camera, and don't count on it to last.

...but it lasted just a week past the expiration of the warranty. I am an infrequent camera user and research persuaded me that this one would serve the purpose well. Which it did -- briefly. Shortly after I registered the purchase, Sony sent me a solicitation for an extended warranty, at a cost of about $335 for 3 years. As I paid only $135 for the camera (plus $70 for the memory stick) this did not seem like much of a bargain so I declined.
When I turned the camera on yesterday, I got only a white screen -- no menu, no icons, nothing. Fresh batteries and the reset procedure described in the manual brought no results. Sony's website only referred me back to the manual and warned that service might be required. The estimated cost? $111. Plus postage, of course!
Well, live and learn. This will be the last purchase I ever make of a Sony product.
