Good Digital Camera

Pros Size, Easy Use, 2" LCD Screen, tough body, USB 2.0
Cons Short Battery Life, Delay between shutter button push and shutter taking picture
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I'd buy it again if given a choice. I've been very happy with different Sony products for a while now...
I've owned 3 different digital cameras before now... all were cheaper with less MB and performed worse than expected. I had purchased a Sony Camcorder last year and was extremely pleased with the ease of use and quality of moving pictures... thus when I went shopping for a new Digital Camera was easily narrowed down when I saw the DSC-S60. I've read reviews before and I only need something for family shots/vacation/personal needs so a 4.1 MegaP was okay for my use. I got serious with the Sony DSC-S60 at BrandsMart and negotiated the price to $169. The salesman threw in a 256 MB Sony Memory Stick Pro at a discount as well. I went thru the instructions and learned nearly everything I needed to start shooting, but it really wasn't that necessary to read all the manual to produce basic photos.

I've had it about 3 weeks now and have taken shots indoors and out...went to my granddaughters' baptism and shot in the church (without the flash...my personal preference was not to flash during the service) and got many shots that were decent. Yes, there were some that were blurred but that could have happened if I was using my Minolta SLR film camera. Some of the candid shots were excellent.

I'm still learning how to use the S60 but the photos are getting better the more I experiment with it.

Also, I went thru a set of batteries quickly, but I turned around and bought another brand charger and rechargeable batteries and have been using those with no problem.

It has a tough body, I've dropped it twice with no ill effects (not recommended tho')
