The Purchase

We had originally planned on buying a DVD player for the kids for Christmas....that was until my mother-in-law found out we didn't have one. She told my husband to go buy them one....not just a cheap and simple one...but one like hers! Mind you she has a top of the line DVD... Read full review »

Pros CHEAP, Advanced Features, Reading Capability, MP3, JPEG, Small, picture quality,...
Cons none, yet

I have a specific reason for buying this tiny DVD player. It can read image files as slide show or photo album viewed on TV…and it is cheap, very cheap. Its small size and lightweight makes it an excellent portable unit. Thanks to NC Ten (CL in Computers), I got hooked with Roxio PhotoSuite 5.0... Read full review »

Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player
MSRP: $40

----- Why a $40 DVD player? -----

For starters I'm not one that likes to buy cheap no-name components in the electronics area. I already own an excellent low-end Sony DVP-NS725P DVD Player which is the main unit for movie playing... Read full review »

A Dirt-Cheap DVD Player That's Still Going Strong...

Pros An incredibly low price, extra features, surprisingly durable, plays multiple formats...
Cons None...a real surprise for the price.

When you buy any "cheap" piece of electronics, you generally get what you pay for. So when I bought a Cyberhome 300S DVD Player three years ago for under $30, I fully expected that I'd need to replace it within a year. To my great surprise, after three years of moderate use, it's still going... Read full review »

Well, for some time now, we've been using a Panasonic DVD player for my mother's bedroom which has worked just fine. But a few months ago, it started to refuse to play a lot fo DVDs for no reason and it just started crashing down. Then the final blow was when it was a final "no disc". So this means... UPDATED: See CONCLUSION at bottom for what is new.

Why another review among almost 120 reviews? Because I was surprised to read about the Cyberhome 300s cult like following on the Internet and issues not raised in other reviews.

If you're expecting a usual Epinion review here,... Read full review »

Pros Cheap, region free, cheap, workhorse, cheap
Cons Jittery with rentals

When we moved to the US 3 years ago, we had to furnish our rental pretty quickly. As we were only supposed to be here for a year, everything had to be cheap and we didn't bother shipping much of our stuff from the UK. Besides, most of our electronics would have needed expensive transformers for... Read full review »

Ok. I am walking through Wal-mart one day and I see a sign saying "DVD player 34.95". WOW! 35 dollars for a dvd player that is so great. So I just had to have one. In fact within the same week I went back and bought 2 more. So here I am with 2 silver cyberhome 300/s's and one 300/b (the black one)... Read full review »

I got this nifty little DVD player from Radio Shack for under $50 around Christmas time of 2003. I had never heard of Cyberhome, but I was impressed with what they were doing...an inexpensive, highly functional, small footprint DVD player. The two most important decision criteria for me were the... Read full review »

First I want to post an update about my new findings. I wrote in the review that follows that CyberHome website only consist of form for customer service request. That was the case when I first visited it when I purchased the Player. I just tried it again (about a week later), and found out that... Read full review »
