Fire Hazzard
We've had this TV for 2 1/2 years and last night it tried to burn our house down. It' was on most of the evening and around 10:30pm it started cracking and popping. The price is Great

HORRIBLE AND DEFECTIVE CONTINUED
I totally agree with Cherim224. We had our set for a little over 7 months when it started to crackle & throw sparks. The set would turn itself off and then on again, even when unplugged!! Burning Smell - Broken after 4 years
Purchased the GE TV new at Best Buy for $1000 brand new in December of 2004. Now 4 and a quarter years later it has stopped working. Shuts itself off if you try to turn it on. I purchased this GE 52inch HDTV exactly 3 years ago today. I recall about 6 months after getting it, my picture kept fading out but I figured it was the satellite dish causing problems...NOT! Don't listen to them
This is a great television. Don't be fooled. I have had this set for well over 2 years. I haven't had a single problem. It's the greatest television I have. It's a bit weak on some color, but It's easily managable with the color adjustment, in the menu.

Crappy TV
I bought this tv on black Friday 2004. Exactly 1 year and 1 week, the power supply had a bad connections causing sparks to come out of the back of the tv.
