The Bottom Line:
You may want to avoid this DVD player.
I bought the dvd to play divx movies. For that purpose, it seems to work fine. It can read most disks, though a number of (new) disks have to be inserted several times before the play can load them.
What disappoints me is that the firmware in the device is yet to be properly debugged. I encountered many annoying problems and found myself to reboot the player too many times using the power switch on the back of the player. The soft power button in the front do not work in many cases.
The most annoying problem with the device is that its basic buttons do not work the way you expect it to work. I frequently have problem like this... When I take a disk out and press the "Open/Close" button, the DVD player closes the tray, attempts to load the disk (even when I do not insert any disk), fails to load and reopens the tray. The LCD still says that the tray is closed. Press the "Open/Close" button again and the LCD changes its status to open. Press "Open/Close" again and the process repeat. There is no way to close the tray.
I have better luck with simply push the tray in to close the empty tray or use the remote, that only is successful from time to time. Power off and on (using the inconveniently located switch on the back) may help, though it may just close the tray then open the tray again.
If you are willing to spend 10 minutes to get the tray to close properly after you take out a disk, this DVD player is for you.
