Basic functions work OK

does what it should do, fairly easy to figure out.
Cons
Older models may have sound sync issues, buy a newer one.

I got one of these back in 06 for xmas, and had issues with sound sync in the extended record mode (4 hrs) but sent the unit back under warranty, and it was replaced with a new unit that I have not noticed any issues on, so I think they figured out how to fix this.
I've recorded lots of shows and movies off the Tivo and have had good results.
