Handy basic speaker system for Dell Ultrasharp Monitors
Pros
Reduces desktop clutter, power connection direct to Ultrasharp monitor
Cons
Basic sound will disappoint some users
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Basic speaker systemm that reduces desktop clutter
This is handy accessory for the Dell Ultrasharp monitor line.
This is a basic stereo speaker system which is suitable for casual music listening, educational computer tutorials, and basic computer sounds from desktop computer applications.
Tip: This product is NOT for someone who wants fantastic sound, and a large and fulfilling base tone.
Installation: The speaker bar snaps on to the bottom of an Ultrasharp monitor. The easiest way to do this is to rotate the monitor on its stand 90 degrees. Then, slide and snap the speaker bar into position. A great feature of the speaker bar is that the power connection is directly to the Ultrasharp monitor via a special plug especially for this purpose. This eliminates another cord dangling to the floor and another power adapter. The audio connections connect to your PC as with any other speaker system.
Controls: A conveniently mounted knob on the right hand side of the bar turns on the speakers and adjusts the volume. Once turned on, a blue light comes on in the middle of the speaker bar. You may find this annoying, and there is no way to turn off the light while the speakers are on.
How does it sound?
The answer is that this is a basic amplified speaker system. So, the volume is loud enough compared to a non-amplified system. Those who want theater sound for movies or listen to loud music and want a pounding bass will be disappointed with this speaker system.
