The Bottom Line:
If you dont care that its a big heavy monitor and you want a big screen and rich crisp graphics for photo editing and video purposes, this is for you
This monitor came with my dell system and was a free upgrade from a 17 in. It is a beautiful monitor with a nice crisp picture and rich colors. Great for text or games and movies, i almost prefer watching DVDs on it then my tv because the picture is so nice! My advice to people is to get software that adjusts the gamma of your screen so it looks rich and crisp, i think lots of people blame the monitor for a dull picture when in fact its what the the computer is telling the monitor to show. I have adobe photoshop and it has an adobe gamma program that goes in the control panel, when you play with this you can make your computer screen look just right, without it things can look dull. I feel so comfortable with this monitor, have you ever had a 15 in. monitor with like a .29 dot pitch at 60hz the whole time? they are such eye sores! This is not one of those! this has a .24 dot pitch which is not too shabby! I decided to get this monitor rather then a LCD screen because even though lcd screens take up less space they are not as good with demanding graphics and photos. Since i do a lot of photo and video editing i wanted to make sure i had a monitor that could show them nicely. CRT monitors by their nature at least for now do much better graphics then LCD flat panal screens. This would be a great monitor if you dont care that its somewhat big, if you want an attractive quality monitor and you do a lot of photos and video editing this is a great one.
