Its like Internet Radio!

Pros VERY PORTABLE. No special cradle required like the Skyfi.
Cons Nonergonomic design. I hate the 'rotory' knob. Limited Display. The wireless remote solves that.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Great product and XM service. Get this with the wireless remote.
One of the reasons I like the Roady2 is b/c you only have to use three plugs; a standard power plug, a standard antenna plug, and a standard mini-stereo plug. This allows you to get away with not needing a "kit" The only drawback is there's three plugs to unplug with each move. You can eliminate the stereo plug by using the builtin wireless FM modulator, not the best sound output though. Most everything you need comes with the retail package.

I also like the Tuneselect, "one can program the Roady 2 to inform the listener when a favorite song comes on any channel." -shabba2

I heard through xm411.com, DELPHI is planning on releasing a "walkman" attachment; allowing a li-ion battery and internal antennae. It will be a housing that the Roady2 will sit in.

Ok now for the gripe, the 'rotary' knob used to scan and select the channels is horribly placed; top right of the unit. A more ergonomic knob needs to be designed to be controlled by the user's thumb, not pointing finger. Reaching back and forth in the car on a mounted unit is a pain in the car too. You will be reaching back and forth changing among the 100 channels. My answer to this? Get the Home kit. For $40 (crutchfield) you will get a home antenna, home cradle, AC adapter, stereo cables, and a WIRELESS REMOTE. Now no more reaching!

On the service, I pass under an overpass, 1 second drop. Pass through heavy forest area, possible drop. These are expected with satellite. I say its like internet radio b/c you get to listen to anything you want. The choice is enormous like the internet. I love being able to check on traffic in Atlanta anytime I want. I don't have to wait on the radio traffic announcement.

UPDATE! Wanted to take a moment to update my review. I currently still have the Roady2 and still enjoy it. I wanted to note my biggest problem with it. See if its something you can accept yourself before buying. The display only has two lines. You have a choice of any two information you would like to be displayed at one time. Choices are: Channel and Station name, Artist name, Song Title or Stock Ticker. I wish that the display would display the first three all at once. 12/23/04. Price is dropping on it too, $100.
