It's worth the money to pay for radio!

Pros It's portable - use in-home and in car - same unit with additional add-ons.
Cons Every piece sold separately - figure out what you need before buying.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I'd recommend it to all of my friends without hesitation. I'd suggest that they price shop for better deals.
We bought our XM SkyFi and within 48 hours, we went out and bought a second one for our other car! I never would have imagined that I would actually PAY for radio - but it's worth the money. The XM channel selection has something for everyone and if you go to their website, they have all different "specials" from concerts to comedy going on all day. You can also print out a schedule of events. They also have a deal where you pay less per month for your 2nd-5th unit, so, if you have more than one car or you want one permanently in the house, you don't pay "full price" for each one.

So now we travel without having to scan the radio every time we cross the "signal line." That's a big plus when you do a lot of driving.

How's the quality of the sound? Well, we've found that all depends on the quality of your vehicles sound system. We've had it in three cars - a conversion van, a Camaro and Lincoln. It sounds best in the Lincoln - clear and crisp. In the conversion van and the Camaro, it sounds good but not as good as the in the Lincoln. The Lincoln has the original sound system - don't know if that's a factor.

Installation was relatively easy - a few wires. It was less than an hour to put it all together.

We haven't bought any of the home equipment yet - I expect we'll be buying the BoomBox in the near future.

What are the negatives? Well, first, you need to know your equipment. The kid in the store (and I mean "kid") insisted that we needed the unit, the FM modulator and the car kit - but since we had an after-market radio, we didn't need the FM modulator, only a cheap set of wires.

Also, I've found the product, new-in-box, on e-bay for less than my local "big electronics" store.

Enjoy the music!
