Best Receiver I've ever owned!

Pros Powerul amplifier clean sound.
Plenty of advanced features.
Outstanding job of upconverting non HD sources.
Cons Front panel isn't userfriendly.
Only two HDMI inputs.
No 7.1 mode for non BluRay sources.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line: I would reccomend this receiver to anyone looking for a high end product without spending thousands of dollars. The HDMI up-conversion looks great on any HDTV.
I purchased this receiver for use with my movie theater setup which includes a projector and home theater pc with HDMi outputs. I have had this product for approximately 3 months now and have had no issues. The receiver is very powerful and has plenty of head room to provide clean sound to the largest of speakers. The Faroudja chip makes every source i plug into the receiver HD. It does an outstanding job of making my analog cable tv look crisp. The soundfields are better than most in DSP mode, although some are overdone with regard to reverb. There are tons of inputs to hook up many devices with the exception of HDMI inputs. There are only two of these. The receiver is a bit pricey and I thought it would have more than two of these inputs but the other features make up for it. My other complaint is that there really isnt a 7.1 mode for dolby digital dvd's that are not Blu Ray. Set Up is great once you figure out how to get into the onscreen menu. Trying to set it up by looking at the lcd display can be frustrating though. The included microphone equalization adjustment for the speakers is a great idea but I ended up goin into the menu to manually set the levels for Movie playback. Overall it has been superior to any of the other surround sound receivers I have owned even though it lacks 3 HDMI inputs that the newer models often have, and doesn't have the aforementioned 7 speaker mode.
