The Bottom Line:
If you're looking for a new receiver take a Listen before you buy, there really is a difference in sound from brand to brand.
I had a Sony receiver up until now, but I wasn't satisfied with the sound (it seemed as though some days it sounded good and others it sounded bad), enter the Denon AVR-883 (which is the same as the AVR-1803) and WOW. I'd heard that Denon recievers had a very Warm sound, and nothing prepared me for how nice it really was. I didn't think just changing your receiver could make such a big difference in sound.
It's not the easiest thing in the world to use and it doesn't have all the cool lights like my Sony did, but I'll take the great sound over the cool lights.
