Cons Not as many picture tweaks, as I would like.

While this player is almost exactly the same as the Denon DVD-755S, which has the same body in silver. This unit has been produced for a couple of years without change. When it first went into production, it was one of the rare few, UPconverting/ scaling DVD players in production.

Pros Near HD quality picture Superb digital sound and picture quality Great value for price
Cons Slow load time Separate On/Off buttons Greenish Tint on Menu Screen
Recommended it? Yes

I recently bought this player after my older Pioneer Elite Progressive Scan unit crashed for the second time in as many years. With the price of DVD players these days, I thought a new unit might be cheaper and better than fixing the old one.

I have one of the new 50 inch Samsung DLPs... Read full review »

Good "sweet-spot" for DVD players

byphilcrocetti Feb 2, 2005

Pros Build quality, value for price, DVI output
Cons None yet!
Recommended it? Yes

I just picked up one of these and find it is the best value for the money. You'll see diminishing returns if you spend more money, so this is a good sweet-spot. I'm pleased with the styling of the unit and durability of the controls. (True the remote looks a bit dated!)

More importantly,... Read full review »

Denon DVD-1910 / DVD-755

byred_visor Oct 9, 2004

Pros - Faroudja-based deinterlacer. - See the review (15 word limit is too short!)
Cons - No VCD/SVCD support (?) - Somewhat sluggish.
Recommended it? Yes

This is a review the Denon DVD-1910 / DVD-755. These models are exactly the same, except that the 1910 is black and the 755 is silver.

Out of the box, this unit is very light; about as light as the sub-$100 players that currently flood the market. It's not "ultra slim" like most players... Read full review »

Best Quality HD Up-Conversion DVD player for price

bylmoore00 Apr 24, 2005

Pros Great Picture Quality, Unbelievable Sound reproduction, Farudja interlacer
Cons price, not as bulky as other Denon models
Recommended it? Yes

The Denon 1910 is the best DVD HD-Up conversion player for the price. It provides quality playback, no freezing, skipping, or distortion like some HD-Conversion models (cough Toshiba).

Denon players are known for their sound quality, and this model pumps out the audio.
The sound... Read full review »

Pros Beautiful picture from commercial DVDs. Plays computer-generated DVD-R media very well.
Cons None!
Recommended it? Yes

This review is particularly for us poor folks who are still using RP HDTVs without the DVI (Digital Visual Interface) and/or the HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface). My expensive, but low-rated Pioneer Elite DV-45A DVD player did not play DVD-R media well. I researched replacement DVD... Read full review »

Samsung HL-R6768W replacing my Mitsubishi WS-65809

Pros Excellent video and audio output. Most bang for bucks in mid-priced DVD players.
Cons To this date none found. Maybe once using DVI there will be?
Recommended it? Yes

I have been using this Denon on my '02 model Mitsu HD-ready tv via component outputs and have been very impressed with video quality on it. I've used several other name brand DVD players and returned them before keeping this Denon. Burr-Brown for audio, Farouja DCDi to assist in video and Denon... Read full review »
