Good quality player, nice user interface.
Pros
It just works, with a well-thought-out comfortable interface.
Cons
Pricey but worth the difference.

I was willing to pay the higher price for this player over other upconverting players for several reasons:
1) Fast forward and fast reverse work smoothly.
2) Discreet Power On and Off signals from the remote (makes it work much better with a universal remote).
3) The front display is readable and has adjustable brightness (it claims to adjust automatically, but I haven't verified that).
These may seem like small issues, but for me they differentiate a quality well-thought-out player from a lesser one. The picture and sound quality are great (using 720p, 2-ch stereo), but then most are these days. It offers all the options you'd expect without overload. I'm not a high-end audio/videophile, but I appreciate a product that feels comfortable. This is the first Denon product I've ever owned and I think I'm now a convert.
