The Bottom Line:
I looked at a lot of HT receivers, this one was my choice, and I'm happy w/it. Solid performer!
After a year plus of ownership, I still like it. In fact, I bought another one for a friend that asked for help setting up a surround sound system. My biggest compalin, as noted by other reviewers, is that setup is NOT easy. The sequnce is complex, confusing, and the buttons used as part of the setup change function in different parts of the process, and none of this is clearly explained anywhere. True, you can set a lot of parameters, and they give you the tools to do that, but it was a lengthy and cumbersome process. When its finally done -- using it is pretty easy. I bought this model for several reason -- most importantly, it has 3 HDMI inputs. It also let you practically bypass the reciever, while a specific source connected to a sink (i.e. the DVR connected to the TV) when it is off. Also, when you turn the TV off, you can set it to turn the reciver off as well. The remote, on the other hand, is (again) confusing. Not only it has a lot of buttons, but they are small, most of them are at about the same size, and the lables are not clear. I don't have very high quality sources connected, so I'd rather not elaborate on sound quality except to say that I have a set of Infinity Act 6 sourround sound speakers connected, and the clarity as well as the sound pressure level are definelty adaquate for HT.
