The best entry-level system on the market!

Pros Very reliable and stable, like all Pro Tools systems.
Cons The LE software, by nature, is very CPU taxing.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you are looking for a reliable system and have a computer that can handle the task Mbox is the best value you will find for under $500.
I had many reasons why I purchased an Mbox over some other company's equivalents.
Compatibility was the primary reason I chose Mbox. Having a system that allows me to take projects from studio to studio without major sync and file conversion headaches is worth its weight in gold! (All I have to do is give the engineer a copy of the session folder, since Pro Tools is pretty much standard in the majority of recording studios I deal with.)
Second is stability. I have NEVER had Pro Tools crash, period. If you've ever had your system go down in the middle of a tracking session you know how valuable this is... I have tried 3 or 4 different recording hardware/software combos (*I will not name names) and have always found bugs in the system. Mbox, however, has never failed.
Third is that fact that it come with basically everything you need. The Mbox Interface AND Pro Tools LE. Most companies package demo versions of software with their sound cards. Pro Tools will not time-out nor does it have any limitations in respect to the LE software.
I do admit that Pro Tools presents quite a learning curve for the first time user, however EVERY software package does at first. Once you know how to use Pro Tools you are set. Basically you can walk into almost any recording situation and easily adapt to what's going on. As the old saying does, "if you know Pro Tools, you are employable."
Finally, installing the Mbox is super simple. (At lease on WinXP) You just plug in the USB cable, pop in the installation CD, click OK several times and wahla! All done!!
