Faulty antennas, and new model stinks
Pros
Comedy channels, Howard, and music selections are worth the monthly fee.
Cons
harware problems
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Sirius is great, but buy the older hardware, and watch out for fault antennas. Also, watch out for faulty "FM modulators" that installers use.
10/1/07 Good news, the radio is working again. Sirius agreed to give me another radio, and a free installation. But the new installer said that the "FM Modulator" that was installed by the last person was not the one recommended by Sirius. He replace that with the Sirius modulator, and everything works great now. (I never had to use the other radio they sent)
Sorry if my review below was bad, it was really the Installers fault for giving me a bad piece of equipment.

I love Sirius radio, it's well worth the money. I had the Sportster installed by Circuit City, and was happy enough until 6 months later when I started to lose service. I got a new unit through the warranty, but had to pay another $100 to have the new unit installed. That worked fine for 9 months, but then had the same problem. (turns out it was a faulty antenna in both cases).
Again, no problem with the warranty, and in this case Sirius gave me a cerificate to have the new radio installed and I got the latest model of the Sportster. That was nice. But the installer basically said that the new Sportster sucked. With the new FCC rules, it could not get the signal from the FM radio, so I needed to have a "modulator" installed in my FM radio. The cost was $132, but again Sirius picked up the charge. The only problem now is that the sound is very low quality, and I get a high pitch noise in the background. If you can, go with the older versions of the hardware. I'm going to wait until I buy a new car. It's not worth the headache. (But I do love listening to Howard)
